-Satya: Hey CFO, go buy Xamarin for our devs
-CFO: ok
*Later*
-Satya: how many licenses did we get?
-CFO: err, licenses, sir?
I have microsoft.com blocked at the router.
LOL. Now THAT is funny....
There's an ancient joke, a Bennet Cerf 1950's joke if I recall... An American petroleum engineer is working in Saudi Arabia, and over time makes friends with a Saudi prince; they become buddies. After many years working together, the American engineer is due to return stateside, and his friend the Prince says he'd like to buy him a going-away gift, in commemoration of their long friendship. The Saudi makes a couple of elaborate suggestions, but the American is somewhat embarrassed by the generous offers.
"Okay, what then would you like?" asks the prince.
"Tell you what", says the engineer. "I love to play golf and I could use a couple of new golf clubs. How's that sound?" The prince readily agrees.
The engineer returns to America and soon forgets the exchange. But then one day he receives a phone call from a man with an Arabic accent, who says, "My employer the Prince has had me personally select a number of fine golf clubs for you. I hope you will find them suitable. I regret, however, that only three of them have swimming pools."

I had signed up for the Win 10 upgrade from Win 8.1 & changed my mind. I had another laptop that was getting the Win 10 messages. I used GWX Control Panel to get rid of the Win 10 files on the one laptop & stop the notices on the other - so far, so good.

From link:
GWX Control Panel is the easiest way for users of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 to protect their computers from Windows 10. With GWX Control Panel you can: Remove the “Get Windows 10” icon that appears in your notification area, prevent your Windows Update control panel from upgrading your computer to Windows 10, prevent your computer from secretly downloading Windows 10 installation files, detect and remove the hidden Windows 10 installation files if they’re already on your PC, optionally monitor your computer for unwanted Windows 10-related settings and files- and beginning with version 1.7 you can now easily delete some hard-to-remove program files that are known to cause Windows 10 upgrades and annoyances.
Ive been told that although windows 10 is pretty good, my older Sony Vaio computer will probably do better to stay on Windows 7. Im sorry Sony doesnt make these or much else these days because Sony was the best.
FYI a little late — was just going over old things -
I also have a SonyVaio and love it. Wanted a newer etc and so disappointed not available. BUT ! just happened to come across something I didn’t know existed. Very similar, and maybe even better ! I LOVE IT !
HP Elitebook
I find sellers of computers have lots of them with Win 7 still. Searching online as Amazon, BestBuy, Staples, etc
see down the left side all the options etc
Thanks for the input.
