The black one on the left shows how hard it is to photograph Black Labs—their facial features tend to be absorbed by the black background. OTOH BlCk Lab puppies are the cutest, most appealing of all because they look like animated blobs of black India rubber, almost totally devoid of limbs and with pink tongues sticking out of the blackness.

I agree , it's difficult to photo dark subjects ... you need a mix of directional lighting to show the contours and an overall high level of diffused light... and then you have the contrast issues.. it took me a while to find a reasonably sized good pic of a black lab...

Did you know that black Labs are said to be the smartest? Then yellow Labs and then chocolate. However, they’re all smart dogs.

We miss our black Lab terribly. She was the best dog.
