Basic items like nail polish remover and deodorant are hard to come by.
Beauty-obsessed Venezuelans are being forced to live without their favorite supplies like nail polish and makeup, but also essential hygiene products like deodorant, shampoos, and baby wipes. This is due in large part to a lack of dollars and poor exchange rates in the debt-strapped country, all of which are preventing it from being able to import goods. About 70 percent of Venezuela's products are imported from other countries.
"This year things have gotten pretty ugly," Jesus Guillen, a sales clerk in a drugstore in the neighborhood of Altamira in east Caracas, told Fox News Latino. "We have had supply problems with deodorants, shampoos, sun protectors, body lotions."
The cash-strapped country is also running low on food, diapers, and even coffins, but it's the country's shrinking shampoo and deodorant supply that has many Venezuelans up in arms.
"You can't buy what you want," Jose Alvarez, a chauffeur, told Fox News Latino. "I haven't been able to find any shampoo."
Now that the country's beauty supplies have dwindled, Venezuelans have been forced to settle for whatever products they're able to get their hands on. There are less than 10 brands of shampoos available in the country, and in many shops, you can only find one deodorant made for women, which men have no choice but to settle for.
Seriously, going a day without deodorant or even your favorite lipstick is hard to imagine. Hopefully they get this issue sorted out soon.
Hugo Chavez, his hand chosen successor Nicolas Maduro, and Bernie Sanders are all self described "socialists."
Maybe he could buy them some deodorant.

Socialists don’t need deodorant because they do not us it.
One thing about socialists like Sanders is, they are not enamored of socialism in spite of its failures. No, they love socialism/communism precicely because it offers the average person scarce necessities of poor quality and almost no choice in consumer goods. The proles are supposed to work until they drop dead and never be allowed to have anything to make their lives more comfortable. Then the ruling class can feel like royalty when they compare themselves against the peasants.
