This is the question of the hour. If the Senate were under the control of Harry Reid and the Democrats, this nation would be officially over. There would be no hope.
The Republican senate may choose to cave. But who might rally those troops to stop this?
Who will stand in the Senate must defiant to the surest end of this Republic?
If Obama were able to ask Reid to place a replacement to Scalia, we would be about two years out to complete obliteration of civil rights for average conservative Americans.
In October 2013, Senator Cruz essentially shut down the USFG. We were essentially told that this was insane defiance of the Democratic Senate and it would snuff out any chance of winning the Senate in 2014:

The shutdown galvanized the conservative base of this nation to throw the bums out. The Republican Senate came to power. Had this not happened, we would be completely doomed.
Hail Cruz!
Seriously, who would Trump appoint?
Does anyone have the foggiest idea?
Can anyone really say the Scalia appointment by Trump would be conservative.
Wake up America before it is too late!
Ok, I think we’ve reached our vanity limit for the evening.
Trump should agree to appoint Cruz.
War over. 40 years of Cruz on SCOTUS.
Oh look, another Cruz nut dancing around Scalia’s body, because it makes a grand old stage prop.
And did NOTHING !
Shouldn't have wasted your time with this posting.
>Seriously, who would Trump appoint?
You tell me.
We not only want a conservative, but a strict constructionist who adheres to the original intent of the Constitution. That is the foremost job of an Associate Justice.
EZEKIEL was a priest taken to Babylon in 597. Before 586, he preached a message of judgment and doom. After 586 he focused on hope and salvation. The source of his hope is not in any of the political powers of his day but in God’s own nature and purpose. The temple is destroyed, but God is not bound by a temple and has moved into exile with His people. The sins of the past will not keep the present generation from choosing life and salvation. The book ends with a great vision of the future restoration of the people and the temple.

I wouldn't take it that far. Perhaps a hearty round of applause.
Seriously, who would Trump appoint?
I'll take a shot at this one:
Cowboyway: "Mr. Trump! Who would you appoint to the Supreme Court sir?"
Trump: "It would be somebody great! Somebody with extreme intelligence, not as smart as me but very smart! It would be somebody who understands the importance of immenent domain. He, or it could possibly be a woman if shes not a b!tch like that Fox News gal or as ugly as Carly Fiorini, would do great things in beating China and granting citizenship to Mexicans, once they've been sent back home of course! Just trust me, it would be somebody great!"
Trump could appoint Ted Cruz.
Yes, HAIL CRUZ! CRUZ UBER ALLES!
Seriously man, lay off the kool-aid. We get it, you like him.
He was all for Roberts, who broke all of our hearts. It can probably happen with anyone’s nominee, it’s kind of a dice roll.
Fact is, one Supreme Court vacancy is not the lone criteria for this election. I trust Trump’s judgement on Supreme Court nominees, otherwise I wouldn’t be voting for him. A bunch of Supreme Court Justices are old, so the next POTUS is likely to appoint a few.
It’s cool, we have a difference of opinion. It happens. But you should really tone it down some. You’re at an 11. We need you at about a 6.
Jesus saved our Republic.
Has Trump ever made his views about Supreme Court Justices known before he decided to run for President? I’ve looked for comments from him and haven’t been able to find any.
I doubt Trump was a Scalia admirer until very recently.
For all the naysayers on this thread, let me confirm your wisdom:
When Cruz shutdown the government in 2013, that prevented the Republicans from taking over the Senate?
It made Republicans look so bad and so Evil that Democrats increased their majority in 2014?
alternatively, the voters who switched the Senate to Republican control, were voting for the wise and prudential guidance of Mitch McConnell. They liked people like John McCain.
The public vote in 2014 was a referendum on Cruz’s audacious shutdown. And just like the Gingrich revolution in the mid 1990s, this led to a conservative transformation that is still rolling.
The public concluded that what Cruz did in 2013 was correct.
When I witness the venom pouring forth on this ostensibly conservative board, I have no hesitation in pointing this out.
I see no substantive counter to this analysis in this thread thus far.
This should be a wake up call for everyone.
If we don't re-instate Constitutional government-We are finished. It's that simple
Ted Cruz is who we need at this moment in our history. It's why I am praying he will be our next president.
It’s now officially too late.
Feel better now? LOL!
Various Supreme Court justices pushed off the inevitable slide toward liberalism.
William F. Buckley, Jr. reinvigorated the conservative movement leading to the unsuccessful campaign of Goldwater and the successful campaign of Reagan.
There are plenty of conservative heroes who deserve a lot more praise than Cruz.
Does anyone have the foggiest idea?
Ask him.
