Trump’s America
The Wall Street Journal ^ | February 12, 2016 | Charles Murray

If you are dismayed by Trumpism, don't kid yourself that it will fade away if Donald Trump fails to win the Republican nomination. Trumpism is an expression of the legitimate anger that many Americans feel about the course that the country has taken, and its appearance was predictable. It is the endgame of a process that has been going on for a half-century: America's divestment of its historic national identity.

What happened

**********************************

Ted Kennedy’s 1965 Immigration Act followed by Ted Kennedy’s 1986 amnesty for illegal aliens. Followed by no enforcement.

The federal government, with the cooperation of BOTH parties, have flooded the country with foreigners to dilute the voting power of real Americans.

Let me explain to the author of this article just what Trumpism is about:
It’s about Super packs; lobbyists; special interest groups trying to run this country thru the people they give millions of dollars to; We trump supporters don’t like that...

It’s about the lying, deceiving House Representatives and Senators coming around with their hands out and promising us the moon, stars and beyond if we re elect them; We Trump supporters see right thru that...

It’s about our government taking OUR jobs away from US and giving them to illegal immigrants on H1B visa bills; We Trump supporters are not happy about that...

It’s about our government taking support from OUR country and paying Iran 150 billion dollars for garbage; We Trump supporters would like that money for our Vets and Wounded Warriors...

It’s about our government letting ‘every one and their dogs’ come into OUR country and feeding, tending, housing, giving free medical care to illegal immigrants; We Trump supporters say ‘Take care of OUR people first’...

It’s about our government taking away our health care by enacting a bill ‘oh you have to vote on it before you know what’s in it’ situation; We Trump supporters feel everyone in OUR country should have affordable healthcare by us and for us...

We Trump supporters want a STRONGER, RICHER, Country and it’s born and bred people that are legal citizens to be taken care of with better jobs, healthcare, a border wall, a lower tax plan, helping our older Americans that have worked their whole lives in this Country....

To you, Mr. Author of this article, take you ‘meme garbage’ and go live in another country and say this crap and see how long you get away with it!!!

Not a bad read at all. Thanks for sharing. There is this part, though.

There's irony in that. Much of the passion of Trumpism is directed against the threat to America's national identity from an influx of immigrants. But the immigrants I actually encounter, of all ethnicities, typically come across as classically American - cheerful, hardworking, optimistic, ambitious. Keeping our national character seems to be the least of our problems.

This is kind of glossing things over. Legal immigrants come to America and become American citizens because they love what America stands for.

The illegals (which hugely outnumber the legal immigrants), don't give two flips about America's character, undermine our economy, and need to be stopped.

And there it is. Everyone getting health care "by and for us".

Exactly why I won't be voting for The Donald, either in the primary or the general.

The bigger problem is legal immigration, not illegal aliens. Since 1990 35 MILLION LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS have entered this country or the equivalent of the population of Canada. They are issued work permits (green cards) and a path to citizenship. 87% of them are minorities as classified by the USG. They vote more than two to one Democrat. Is it just a coincidence that the Dems support increased immigration and amnesty?

Each year we bring in 1.1 million LEGAL PERMANENT IMMIGRANTS and 640,000 guest workers to compete with Americans for jobs and depress wages. This at a time when we have the lowest labor participation rates in 38 years. Does anyone think that there might be some connection to our mass immigration policies and declining wages and labor participation rates? We have a surplus of labor. If we had a shortage of workers, wages would be going up, not down.

Do you know what Trump has said about his health care plan or are you just deciding it isn’t a good one?
