If I recall correctly, the Emancipation Proclamation only freed the slaves in the rebellious states, not in the Union . . .

Went to Disneyland last year for the first time since I was a child. Two of my favorite exhibits/rides, weirdo that I am, were the Mark Twain Riverboat and “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln”.

Lincoln didn’t like slavery but he hated blacks. He campaigned not to let free blacks into his State and he thought they had no business marrying whites or living in a white country.
