Now that the NFL nonsense is finished it is time to get ready for Baseball
Growl, excuse the typo
Babe Ruthe was the mann.
I’m right there with you. Nothing like the smell and sounds of baseball. I’d rather watch a sandlot baseball game than any Super Bowl. Nothing against football - just my preference.
Not me .. I’m ready for hockey.
I’m trying to get somebody in the San Diego market to televise the San Diego Gulls.
I’ve been a fan for years, but I’m not able to attend the games .. so I would love for somebody to put them on TV.
Oh yes! I’m set up for opening day - I’ll be there on Thursday 7th when my team play at home for the first time.
Baseball is the best of American sports.
Can’t wait for opening day, but I’m more of a Lou Gehrig fan although as a Yankee fan I can’t dislike the babe! If Gehrig wouldn’t have gotten sick, he’d still hold a ton of records.
I loved baseball as a kid, but the game was better suited to a different America than the one we have now.
I can remember listening to Granddad’s old transistor radio in his workshop. Seemed like he always had a Dodgers game on. Vin Scully’s voice became part of the soundtrack of my youth. Just hearing it can bring back a flood of wonderful, peaceful memories.
Never mind that it was during the Cold War, when my granddad already thought the world was going to hell in a hand basket. I’m now as old as he was in those days, and dammit if I don’t feel the same way.
Play ball!
:-)
Having been born and raised in California, I have no reality on the game of hockey, even though L.A. is home to the Kings.
In spite of the fact that they’ve been there so long, the NHL is still trying to sell the game to Angelenos.
Hard to do in a place where it never gets colder than 48 degrees Fahrenheit.
Having been born and raised in North Dakota. All we did in the winter, was play hockey. There wasn't anything else to do.
There are 37 current or former NHL players from California.
After I escaped from ND, I worked 25 years with the California Dept of Corrections.
There is a lot of hockey being played, not only in southern Cal, but all the way to Sacramento.
The babe ruth museum in baltimore is worth the visit... It is no wonder everyone expected a homerun whenever he batted, because his list of multi homer games is phenomenal
Then he said Ruth was Everest in Kansas. That may be one of the great descriptions.
I read once that Babe Ruth used a bat that weighed more than 50 oz. He was obviously a pull hitter. That kind of strength borders on supernatural.
Who or what is a Babe Ruthe?
I know Babe Ruth and Baby Ruth but not this other
Let’s go Royals!
Pitchers and catcher report next week.
Well, I’m counting on the fact that the Gulls are playing really well.
And, after all the garbage about the Chargers Football stuff, I’m ready for another team to root for. The Padres have done well, but I’m hoping they will have a better season this year. Both Chargers and Padres are on TV, and so is San Diego State Aztecs .. who are now 10-0 for the season. But, I’d rather watch hockey than B-ball.
