Family doctors have criticized the Government for seeking to "nationalize" general practice with plans to extend free GP care to all children.
Speakers at the National Association of GPs conference called for a campaign of resistance to plans for a progressive extension of GP medical cards to all children.
The Government plans to extend the scheme to children aged under 12 years later this year and to all children shortly after.
Limerick GP Charlie Gavin said he signed the contract out of fear. "My fear was my practice would not continue, I had a letter from the Government saying they were nationalizing my practice, and they were going to take my business and give it to a doctor 300 yards down the road." ...

Luckily they are Democratic Socialists instead of the dreaded Communists (communists are Democratic Socialists when they fail, the money runs out, and they have to bring out the big guns to maintain their rule).
They must think that 99 years have made the world forget that there’s no distinction. The original name of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was the Social Democratic Labor Party of Russia, after all.
