Proponents of a defeated measure to abolish Delaware's death penalty say they will continue fighting until capital punishment is outlawed.

The legislation failed Thursday evening in the state House, getting only 16 of the 21 votes needed for passage. Twenty-three lawmakers voted against the bill, which cleared the Senate last year by a single vote.

Supporters said they would try to resurrect the measure after a five-week break for budget committee meetings.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this outcome, considering that both houses of the Delaware Legislature are controlled by the Dems. Even still, it's noteworthy that a death penalty repeal is what Dems push for, while being totally unconcerned about Planned Parenthood or the millions of lives murdered by abortion.

They can never abolish the death penalty because it is used on the streets all the time.

Even if one believes that there is justification for the death penalty, one thing is for sure.

I think it’s safe to say that with the type of people currently running most states and the federal government, the death penalty is certainly ripe for abuse, including political abuse.

If we are to have the death penalty, it should be reserved for politicians.

Amazing to me that the parasitic liberal progressives have no problem supporting encouraging and embracing the murder of babies but they will set themselves on fire to protect the rights of the convicted murderer on death row, what gives the state the right to kill a human (animal) It is truly a mental disease

Last time a death rower did not die of natural causes? Two days ago, the guy who murdered the game warden. A couple hundred game wardens and other cops were there at Huntsville plus a bunch of motorcyclists who revved there engines when they put him down.
