I also have a hefty Main Coon male cat....in the 25-pound range, and if you saw him from a hundred feet away...you’d say he was a Bobcat. He stays limited to the house, the balcony and the window.

Maine Coon cats are wonderful. My mom had a beautiful female, who didn’t come *near* that weight. She was large but not that large!

I also have a 25 lb Maine Coon. He is sweet & such a big baby. People have been scared of him but I reassure them that he is perfectly harmless. He is so beautiful & has the biggest eyes that I’ve ever seen on a cat.

Maine Coons are a treasure.

I doubt you worry about coyotes eating him.

I got a Maine Coon/Tabby mix and he is huge. Caboose the cat has a foot long tail and very long legs. And stealthy as a ninja. For a large cat he can move very quietly and nimble. He has a bell around his neck and he can move without making it jingle. Good thing he is friendly because he has claws like a darn puma.

My Shredder is only half Coon so it’s no surprise he weighs in at only around 15, (ranges 14-16) depending on the time of year.

He is an absolute love bug and I think he gets a bit of separation anxiety because every time I go visiting relatives for a week, he won’t let me more than a couple of inches away from him for days after I return home.

All of his fur is thick but his belly is absolutely luxurious and even softer than that new type of fake fur they use for kids stuffed animals and blankies. Of course my favorite is his fuzzy little paws when he pets my face wanting attention.
