Don’t forget Giap wouldn’t have won the war except he had
Kerry, Fonda, the Democrat party, as underlings.

We were winning when I left.

The Civil War was fought in order to nullify the Declaration of Independence, which says that the right to secede from a political entity is a natural right.

Okay, can Dearborn secede creating the first Islamic state in the Americas? Can I secede since I don't like Obama or the "friends across the aisle" Republicans?

“And pass that bottle, before i sober up” - W. T. Sherman; insane manic, depressed, butcher of innocent civilians.

Kicked the South's ass while drunk, huh. Even more impressive.

“Any people, anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better.”-Abe Lincoln Even Lincoln agreed with secession until he didn’t.

"having the power", the key phrase. The South ended up not having the power.

And in other news today Sherman is still dead and rotting in Hell. :-)

Another arrogant neo-confederate, thinking she has the judgment power of God.

Like i stated previously, if you cannot acknowledge a state’s right to secede for any reason, then you have no rights beyond those granted by the government. Rights are not rights if they can be abolished by the government at the point of a gun. I understand that the Confederacy had not the moral high ground in slavery, but the right to secede did exist. If you could envision any reason for which you would separate yourself from a tyrannical government, and i can think of a few, secession might be your only lawful path. I am speaking in contemporary terms.

I assume you are talking about Fort Pillow, but the events of that day are described differently depending on your perspective. Note this sourced article: ‘Forrest’s men insisted that the Union soldiers, although fleeing, kept their weapons and frequently turned to shoot, forcing the Confederates to keep firing in self-defense.[10] Their claim is consistent with the discovery of numerous Union rifles on the bluffs near the river.[18] The Union flag was still flying over the fort, which indicated that the force had not formally surrendered. A contemporary newspaper account from Jackson, Tennessee, states that “General Forrest begged them to surrender,” but “not the first sign of surrender was ever given.” Similar accounts were reported in both Southern and Northern newspapers at the time.[19]’

How do you explain chaining union soldiers to burning logs? Nathan Bedford Forrest was a scumbag, founder of the KKK and guilty of crimes against humanity.

So if the larger power says you don’t have rights, then you don’t have rights?

My point is this: since Lincoln abolished the right of secession, he has made it all but impossible for any future lovers of liberty to secede, no matter how just the cause may be. I dare say that secession and rebellion against tyranny is a basic human right and responsibility. To have it abolished by force of arms is a tragedy, not a victory.

The South's right to secession, which they didn't have in the first place since they didn't run it through the Congress, ended with the attack on Fort Sumter.

So if the larger power says you don’t have rights, then you don’t have rights?

All of the states fought for the land in various wars. You just can't bypass Congress and steal half the country because you love slavocracy. They found out the hard way.

When Fort Sumter was attacked, SC had seceded, but many other states didn’t secede until after Lincoln called for 75000 troops to put down the rebellion.

When Fort Sumter was attacked, SC had seceded,...

What's that got to do with the price of beans in Boston? Fort Sumter was federal property, built from the seafloor by the states through the federal government, and in an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, not state property.

...but many other states didn’t secede until after Lincoln called for 75000 troops to put down the rebellion.

It was obvious the South wanted war from the start.

“assuming the judgment power of God is no-no”

Well if an army burns your crops, kills your cattle, rapes your women, and destroys your cities, it is safe to assume...
