For me, the most interesting part of the most recent debate was the part where he seemed to indicate that he couldn't ask Cruz to be Vice President until he dealt with the citizenship issue, which could derail an otherwise pleasant association. Just being practical. But no where have I heard any reference to this, what I would consider to be an extremely interesting comment, not challenged or denied by Cruz.
It appeared to be jocular.
It might have been. But if I wouldn’t choose Cruz as VP with that hanging over his head. Nor would anyone really wanting to adhere to the Constitution.
Same reason no one is talking about Cruz’s remark about having Trump pay for the Wall.
That’s because no one wanted listen to what he, Trump, actually said. They just wanted to talk about the ‘zingers’ they thought Cruz got in before Trump responded.
There’s that old saying in politics......nothing is a coincidence. I say this only because I think a Trump/Cruz team would be great!
IIRC, Cruz stated that he would put Trump in charge of building the wall...
Excellent question, and I have no clue if it was a joke...It sure seemed serious to me.
If Cruz is unqualified for president as trump contends. Then he is unqualified to me Vice President as well.
I took it seriously.
I noticed it and thought they are still friend.
The NBC issue. Trump is inoculating Cruz from the charge down the road.
Trump didn’t sound in.....’,.Cruz for vp mode’ ....this morning on Morning Joe
Can’t say that I blame him
I took it seriously too. I think Trump was putting his finger up to see which way the wind blows.
I think it’s obvious that if Trump had entertained that thought, it’s gone now. Cruz has been on the warpath all day today and it’s not pretty. Cruz comes across as angry and vindictive in his attacks. Not his fault, just his demeanor but I’m pretty sure Trump tossed that maybe right out the window.
My initial response was that it might finally put a end to the fence sitters with this Trump/Cruz slate.
I really don’t care if it’s a good or bad thing. It just never made any sense to me. Not a single bit..
I think Cruz himself eliminated that possibility. Certainly after claiming Trump was not eligible because his mother was Scottish. Trump adored his mother. Cruz cut his own throat by being too arrogant and stepping out of his place. He gambled and lost.
Really!
Bwahahah
I dunno. I think Trump and Cruz could be a good team.
He also said in a very arrogant fashion that he, Cruz, did not need any legal advice from Trump. That is when he dug his own grave...and just kept on digging ......
Yeah, I ‘get it’ and would love that too (if Cruz doesn’t win). But it did seem jocular to me.
On Cruz as a Trump VP I don’t see any benefit to that unless Trump needs to move to the left in the general and has to offer the Right something big to keep conservative backing.
I see no reason for him to do that- he can keep on with what he’s doing now just fine.
My guess for his best VP pick is retiring Rep. Cynthia Lummis [R-WY0], if she would.
Democrats WILL sue Cruz over this birther issue. Don’t pretend they won’t and don’t pretend they only did it because Trump raised this issue so its his fault.
They WILL use the court to disqualify someone in order to win. Notice that while Trump has raised this issue, he hasn’t actually sued Cruz over it?
It was banter. Nothing more.
