Any recollection of Super Bowl victories without including the Steelers is likely to be amiss.
Jets vs Colts has to be the most major upset.
This is upsets.
I think the Steelers were always considered contenders by the time they got to the big show.
Best SB evah - Steelers vs Cardinals. Can’t remember the year or Roman Numeral, but it was truly a classic. And I say this as a diehard, lifelong Packers fan.
The Terrible Towels. :)
Carson & AZ Cardinals fan here - should be a good game Sat night.
Go Carson & Cards!
Although living in Wisconsin and a huge Packer fan, I liked to watch the AFL. They were a lot more wide open than NFL teams. I knew the Jets had a good team, and Namath was a better QB than anything the Colts had...including Unitas who was fading at the time.
A lot of my friends dismissed the AFL, and all the...uh...experts picked the Colts to win by a big number. That might have the best I've felt from watching a non-Wisconsin sports team win. Didn't like the Colts...they were too good.
Jets, tremendously overrated. If they played a 14 game season between themselves, Colts win 12 times. I always looked to watch Namath play and “thrill me”, never really did. He was a two hit wonder with, only that many games where he excelled. Now George Blanda, he was awesome in his heyday, Daryl Lamonica, John Hadl, and Greg Cook in the later years.
Second to the Giants denying the Pats a perfect season according to this article. And one could probably drink beer and argue about that all night long.
I’ve never really been a Jets fan, but I will always love Joe Namath.
