Rene Angelil, husband of Celine Dion, dies

Rene Angelil, the husband and former manager of singer Celine Dion, died Thursday.

A brief statement on Dion’s website said Angelil died at home in Las Vegas from cancer.

He was 73 years old.

"We have asked [doctors] many times, how long does he have, three weeks, three months? Rene wants to know," Dion said in an August interview with USA Today. "But they say they don't know."

He was first diagnosed with throat cancer in the late 90s. He underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his throat in 2014,

I always found Rene and Celine’s relationship even more creepy than that of John and Bo Derek... Almost as creepy as the one Dorothy Stratten and Paul Snider had. Especially considering that Rene had been grooming Celine from the age of twelve.

I can’t help but think of the song that the comedy act “Arrogant Worms” did about her:

I saw her in Vegas a few years back. Full house. Also, I listened to her You Tube video welcoming home Canadian Soldiers from Iraq. She sang half in English. Half in French. Marvelous.....
