No intellectual property protection on ideas. A copyright could be obtained for the app, but it would belong to the creator of the app,
Well ideas can be protected is via patent. I seriously doubt that a "joke" is protectable or even worth protecting.
And yes the copyright would belong to the author of the code unless there was a work for hire agreement.
Tell that to Jerome Lemelson and the millions he extracted simply from concept patents.
