The NFLâs owners are working hard to resolve the L.A. situation, by allowing both the Rams and Chargers to move there. Per multiple reports, it appears that Inglewood will prevail over Carson as the location of the new L.A.-area stadium.
The Chargers want to play at a stadium to be built in Carson, but the Rams want to proceed in Inglewood. Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times has reported that the Inglewood proposal regarding the Rams plus another team eventually got 20 of the 24 required votes to move; the Carson proposal managed far fewer.
It was believed the Chargers would consider mobilizing nine votes to block Inglewood, and then to stay in San Diego for at least a year. While that would have forced the Rams back to St. Louis (awkward), it also would have opened the door for San Diego to put together a viable proposal that could have eventually prompted the owners to not authorize a move by the Chargers in the future.
The leagueâs apparent desire to get the L.A. situation resolved apparently will trump any last-minute gamesmanship by the Chargers aimed at blowing up the Inglewood deal and putting the Chargers and Rams together in Carson.
If the Chargers and Rams will indeed be partnering up, the Raiders must be placated financially, given their pre-existing deal to collaborate with the Chargers in Carson. A large pile of cash aimed at helping the Raiders build a new stadium, presumably in Oakland, likely will do just the trick.

Boy, did St. Louis ever get screwed.
Great idea moving so many football teams to California. Thinking of all those crowds rocking the stadiums at approximately the same time . . . sure that will cause the big one.
St Louis Raiders. Kind of an oxymoron, but I like it.
I’m a Chargers fan, but I like the move. Too laid back in SD or something. Maybe they can get Tom Coughlin too.
They have lots and lots of illegal aliens to sell tickets too
Raiders just dropped out.
>>>They have lots and lots of illegal aliens to sell tickets too<<<
You misspelled
They have lots and lots of tickets to give to illegal aliens too.
There, fissed it.
Would you still support the team in L.A.?
>>Thinking of all those crowds rocking the stadiums at approximately the same time <<
You apparently were not there when the Rams were there before they moved.
The one thing the stadium NEVER did was “rock.” More like slip into a slumber.
And it will slumber again, mark my words.
>>Raiders just dropped out.<<
Couldn’t reanimate Al Davis, I guess.
;)
I Guess it works for the Giants and Jets so L.A. is like "We want to try it too!"
Yeah, at first. If they changed too much they'd lose me. I grew up in Orange County and lived in North SD for awhile and always been a chargers and angels fan. And now it's the LA Angels, even though they're still in Anaheim. The first team I remember was the Anaheim Rams, so kinda hope they move to LA too. All this just when I'm planning on leaving.
Chargers owner Spanos says he hates to leave San Diego, but he is forced to because the Rams are moving to LA. Spanos says 20% to 25% of his season ticket season holders live in LA or Orange County.
The San Diego Chargers did fine in San Diego while the Rams were in Los Angeles or Orange County from 1961 to 1995. As for all those San Diego Charger season ticket holders in LA, you have to take Spanos word for that.
Spanos is a puke. Archie Manning did the right thing by not allowing Eli to play for that loser.
As a Charger fan in San Diego I'll offer an answer. Maybe. A better question would be whether LA area fans will support them. They like the Raidahs!
NFL owners in Houston on Tuesday voted 30-2 in favor of a new proposal for the Rams and Chargers to relocate to Los Angeles and share a stadium in Inglewood, Adam Schefter reports.
I’m a long time San Diego resident and a Chargers fan, and I like that the owners have f***** the Spanos Family Crime Syndicate and their Clinton homo lawyer in the @** — no bigger pile of equine excrement is more deserving. The last thing they want is to share a stadium in Inglewood with the Rams. Now Angelinos will have not one but two miserable franchises they won’t support. LA is a crappy sports town; everyone is getting what they should.
If the Chargers move to LA, Spanos is going to get exactly what he deserves. The Chargers, much like the Browns, have been plagued over the years by lousy ownership.
This could be a blessing in disguise for San Diego. The San Diego Jaguars or the San Diego Raiders would be better than any team owned by Spanos.
Rams belong in LA, Raiders belong in Oakland.
