White fought for her life and for the life of her unborn baby, she said.
"She tried to make it," Dixon said. "She lost too much blood."
In the wake of the deadly robbery, she said many in the community are lashing out at Raven's friend and father of her baby.
"I wish they would just leave him alone," she said, adding that he did all that he could to save her.
Dixon said the 18-year-old was no longer Raven's boyfriend, but they had a relationship for the sake of their baby. He and Raven would meet to talk when he was in town. He is a student at the University of South Alabama.

Maybe he didn’t want to pay child support.
Maybe they believe he could have done something to prevent her being killed.
Stop the murdering. Stop the robbing.
#StopBlackViolence
This reminds me of the Rae Carruth story. He was a wide receiver for the Panthers and knocked a woman up, and then had her killed because he didn’t want anything to do with raising the baby. The baby was born at six and a half months and has all sorts of developmental problems.
Maybe we know why she was pg since mama (with a different last name) had no clue she’d left the house to get pizza in the middle of the night. Maybe she or the ex had an outstanding drug bill and there’s more to this story than ex is telling. Maybe if she’d kept her knees together and was home where she was supposed to be, her family wouldn’t be planning a funeral.
Still, sad to hear of such a young life ending and the baby’s, too.
Searched but never did find out why anyone was lashing out at the boyfriend or much at all about him.
Tangee Dixon, ‘mother’ of Raven White
Police say White and the 18-year-old father of her baby were sitting in a car eating pizza when a gunman approached at around 12:30 a.m. on Friday and demanded money.
Dixon was at home in her apartment at the time and heard the gunshot.
“I didn’t even know she was gone,” she said. “I thought she was in the house until her sister (14 years old) told her she was outside and she had left.”
Despite becoming pregnant, Dixon said her daughter was a straight-A student and a junior at Clay-Chalkville High School. She planned to start playing volleyball on her high school team again after giving birth.
She said Raven was determined to get into a good college, become a nurse and work with children.
You know, a girl can get pregnant having sex just one time - just like your mother!
And a girl can make a stupid decision for pleasure - just like all of us sinners do on a daily basis!
Doesn’t make her a coke whore.
And coke whores can stop and become saints. Mary Magdalene.
Try Christianity on, for real.
Maybe he didnât want to pay child support.
Baby Daddys don’t pay child support. That falls on the taxpayers.
I see nothing un-Christian in kcvl’s post. It merely gives the factual background to this tragic crime.
The whole story has a depressing, underclass tone of illegitimate births and teenage girls on the streets at night. It is true, as you say, that some can turn their lives around, in faith. However, they are severely set back in social and economic terms.
Mary Magdalene wasn’t a whore, she was afflicted with 7 demons. She often gets mixed up with several other Marys in the new Testament.
Thank you, I wandering why I became so un-Christian for posting facts.
It is a sad story for sure.
