Looking for good digitally tuned radio with clock

Posted on 01/06/2016 7:58:02 PM PST by West Texas Chuck

Every couple of years I have a temper fit and smash a clock radio with my 22 oz. ball peen hammer.

We just lost another one tonight. I sent the most recent one to Hell, with a nice taste of my anger.

My wife will thank you all for a solid recommendation.

I don’t think clockboy has radio tuner skills.

I have a cube-shaped Sony, model ICFC1PJ. The digital radio tuning seems to stay locked in (though the usual AM station is very strong). I find the display clear and easy to read, though it’s not what I think of as an “oversized display” design. Give it a look.

And, might I suggest, next time you have a fit of rage, actually hammer some nails into a wooden block to practice your carpentry skills.

My suggestion would be a U.S.-based clock radio from Tivoli Audio.
You will likely find their website interesting and helpful.

A wide variety of hardware choices and reasonable prices for excellent quality.

Sangean PR-D15 gets outstanding reception, especially AM. I do not know how good the alarm clock is, but it has one. $82 on Amazon. Link

Interesting - built plenty of their kits forty, fifty years ago - early stereo FM and the rest - still have one of their oscilloscopes although I haven’t turned it on in years to see if it still works - great stuff way back then and lots of fun in the building too....

You can't get better radios than the 2 on the right.
Just click on them.
