Enough alcohol will pickle someone to where they are well preserved enough to wake up after being dead.
I knew a guy, hardcore alcoholic. He got in an argument with someone at a bar, and when he left, the guy shot him 9 times with a .22 pistol in the parking lot. The bullets missed his vital organs, but still, the paramedics said he probably would have bled out if his metabolism hadn’t been so slow from his contant drinking.
After that, he claimed drinking saved his life and refused to quit!
