E. 57th street. There are some massive skyscrapers being built in that stretch including two that will be higher than what is there presently. The foundations for those two have just been built and they will be going up soon. I think one of them will only be one foot shorter than the new WTC tower.

I remember staying down the street at the Marriott Marquis in the heart of Times Square. It had a 40 story interior atrium with a bar on the open lounge floor at its base. As I recall, a 40 something decided to commit suicide by jumping from one of the higher floor interior balconies and landed on top of the bar during happy hour, much to the shock of the patrons sitting there.

His butt.
This kid was not the innocent victim of an unfortunate accident. He was trespassing, and had to make a real effort to get into that shaft and climb the scaffolding. I realize this is a real tragedy for his family, however, he put foolishly himself into a position that cost him his life. I just wonder if the family will now try to sue the hotel.
