Reminds me of the affluenza case in Texas. Perfect case of where one fool lawyer meets up with one fool judge in court.

They’re not just meeting for the first time in court. They’re usually buddies, and the judge may even be helping the lawyer come up with something that can seemingly justify throwing the case out.

Actually, this lady's defense may very well be legit. One of the Candida species of gastrointestinal yeast can sometimes become overwhelmingly dominant in the GI tract and can crank out alcohol in the gut from the fermentation of sugar.

This bizarre syndrome--which is very rare--was discovered about 30 or so years ago (in Japan, I believe). Anyway, I first read about it in a medical book of some kind in the '80s.
