This actually happened at my local high school's Homecoming Queen announcement. In our case it happened because for some reason they gave the MC the vote totals or something like that on two sheets of paper. He looked at the first sheet, announced the high vote getter. The principal came running out (because he knew the totals) and said no, no. Looked at the other sheet and the MC then saw the next girl with a higher vote total.

The MC was a well known guy in town, and he felt just sick about it. After the truth was revealed, everybody was cool about it. Whoever provided the paper was the one that put the MC in the bad situation.

Thought the same thing. How does this guy continue to work, in this business, with this now on his resume?
