Air strikes believed to have been carried out by Russian warplanes killed scores of people in the center of the rebel-held city of Idlib in northwest Syria on Sunday, rescue workers and residents said.
They said at least six strikes had hit a busy market place in the heart of the city, several government buildings and residential areas. Rescue workers said they had confirmed 43 dead but that at least 30 more bodies had been retrieved that had still to be identified. Over 150 people were wounded with some of the serious cases sent to hospitals in Turkey.
"There are a lot of corpses under the rubble," Yasser Hammo, a civil defense worker, said via an Internet messaging system, adding that volunteers and civil defense workers were still pulling bodies out.
Footage on social media and the pro-opposition Orient TV station showed makeshift ambulances rushing with injured civilians through an area where people were searching for survivors among the debris of collapsed buildings.
One local resident, Sameh al-Muazin, said he had seen mangled bodies in the main Jalaa street of the city, adding that people feared a further round of intensive bombing.
"Everyone is afraid that this is just the beginning," he said.

This up way up north where the terrorists that are supported by Turkey and NATO reside. It's where their logistical network is centered and was, until now, their safe haven.
If ANYTHING will prod Turkey to intervene with force on the ground, it's this pending offensive.

Sounds like someone wants to establish a no-fly zone and needs an excuse.
Or why any of our Troops should not be in Syria, not only are they being subject to indiscriminate bombing raids, there is also a high risk of being subject to torture and death.

My thoughts exactly. I don’t blame people for wanting to overthrow their government, but one should expect people to die in the process.
Also, what good is a ‘no fly zone’ as this theocratic state has no aircraft?...
They are at war with us and due to our feckless president, we are not at war with them.
Maybe they could escape to europe. Oh, they are. Thinkin’ some of them might be “unrecognized combatants”. Oh, they are.

A no-fly zone would be there to protect Senator McCain’s troops, the so-called moderate opposition, which isn’t really moderate at all.
Enforce a no-fly zone with flying carpets.
Sounds like an ISIL operation!
