The trailer looks like a mish-mash of outtakes. Looks like a remake of ST3, with different aliens substituting for Klingons.

A standard Trek trope, and not just TOS.
Why not? After all the last one was a shameless ripoff of Star Trek II. I love space shows generally but the Abrams STs suck.
I miss the old days when the Enterprise kicked butt.
Abrams isn’t directing this movie.
As I have watched the occasional Star Trek episode and movie over the years I’ve often wondered when the hell are they going to finally fix the damned shields?
Star Trek: The Search For Its Soul
I want this https://www.youtube.com/user/startrekaxanar to be finished.
It’s amazing they can still get insurance on the Enterprise.
Saw the trailer.
Worst.
Music.
Evah!
Will give this stinker a miss.
didn’t like it ...
I guess they don’t believe in guns or shields anymore.
That’s why they have to keep changing ships. Scotty wouldn’t put up with that crap and would have that those shields fixed if he had to trade a 400 year old bottle of schottish liquor to make it happen.
Worse is the director from Fast and Furious is.
So a director who specializes in car chase movies is making Star Trek. Gee what could go wrong?
Bleh, it will be another forgettable CGI crap fest.
There is a guy riding a Dirt Bike in the Movie???
Do they still have Gasoline in the 25th Century?
Al Gore will be upset.

I thought Voyager’s (future) anti-Borg armor was pretty cool....
At any rate, my recollection is that forty years ago it was the damned transporter, and then twenty years later it was the damned holodeck that caused all the problems.
boy they destroy the enterprise so often...
Wasn't a young James T. Kirk driving a '65 Corvette?
That was sweet.
I’ve always loved Tony Todd’s work.
Don’t blame Abrams for this one, his name is still attached as producer, but they got the guy who did those inane “Fast & Furious” remakes to direct this.
