I got a steak urge last week. Cooked up two large chuck eye steaks on the grill. GREAT!

I’ve heard of Chuck but never Chuck-eye. I doubt butchers have discovered a new part of the cow’s anatomy, lol. Never mind. I’ll look it up.

Thx, Mark. That's a site I have been to before. Quite accurate in their assessment of the chuck eye.
I love steak but it has gotten so expensive.
But the chuck-eye is still in my price range.

Chuck-eyes are wonderful. And for retired folks, they take away the guilt of overspending.
I have at least one a week. Cheaper than a Big Mac and fries.

That looks delicious. I’ll have to check it out the next time I have a craving. I bought a different kind last week, cooked them in butter, and then added wine and mushrooms. The leftovers didn’t last long and were turned into philly cheesesteaks.

.
Chuck eye is excellent, but the cut is about 1/3 of the size of the center cut rib eye. It also lacks the thin band of extra tender on the outer edge.

“My butcher said that the owner of the grocery eats most of the ones in the butcher shop. But he has a couple of extras each week.”
Also, the families of butchers probably grew up eating these steaks.

I’ve always loved the porterhouse steak. It’s not around much these days.

Love fried balogna, but I am on a paleo diet (i.e. no bread).
That said, cheese, tomato, and lettuce are on my diet...but man do I miss bread...and rice and pasta.

“Filet Mignon” is actually a specific way of cooking the tenderloin.
