Is Trump Leading a Genuine Political Movement?
The Fiscal Times ^ | December 7, 2015 | By Rob Garver

What Donald Trump is doing in the Republican presidential primary is increasingly being called a "movement," both by Trump himself and by conservative commentators, whether they like where he's trying to take the GOP or not. However, according to one long-time student of political movements and leadership, the Trump "movement" may not be worthy of the name.

And the criticism isn’t coming from some leftist ideologue who instinctively backs away from Trump because he is energizing elements of the far right. It's coming from former eight-term Oklahoma Congressman Mickey Edwards, a founding trustee of the conservative Heritage Foundation and former national chairman of the American Conservative Union.

So in other words, he's for Bush?

These people are harming America.

Big time.

The movement is dissatisfaction with the Republican party establishment. Trump is just the face of it. It isn’t dependent on Trump and would be present even if he hadn’t run.

This is not about partisan politics any more. This is now about the regime. . . and the opposition party. GOPe are with the regime, they’ve made that clear. The democrat party certainly is. But how many are left in the democrat party?

The reason he’s leading is the stark absence of the “political” factor.

He’s leading the people - a concept that seems to be foreign to the left, and the MSM.

The rants come out daily on what the political class think of Trump, all the while using their sleight of hand to try and distract you from seeing that the people are behind hi, he doesn’t depend on the media or the political elite’s approval.

He’s reviving the “power of the people” and that is a major threat to the left, and, the GOPe.

Oh,like liberals not allowing Wal-Mart to build in their town?

Consider for a moment how problematic this is. The leading candidate for a major party’s presidential nomination is on the record cheering about the declining fortunes of a U.S. company – one that, with more than 166,000 workers, happens to be among the top 50 employers in the country.

Not only that, but Trump is doing it out of anger that Macy’s was “disloyal.” Not disloyal to the country, mind you. Not to its customers. Disloyal to him.

My problem with Trump spoken succinctly once again.

You see what you did there? You defended Trump by saying see...see...the liberals do it too!! Is that REALLY the defense for Trump you want to use?

There are a few Cruz supporters, who are really going overboard in criticising Trump.

The two of them get along famously so far.

Until the two of them square off against each other, I think you should calm down just a bit.

Mind you, the two might just go head-to-head someday. I think that is maybe a 50/50, but maybe.

If they do, then all bets are off, and FR will become a huge mess of criticism in every direction.

But they’re not. Not even a little.

So for the time being anyway, my suggestion to you is to be a bit more balanced, in expressing your opinions.

Advocate for your guy, but tame down the criticisms of Trump, at least until the two go at it, themselves.

....cheering the decline of a company because they were disloyal “to Trump” is harming America too.

How many jobs jobs jobs do you think Macy’s will lose with a stock price tanking in half?

And why was Macy’s disloyal? Because they’d rather support Mexican illegals than American Citizens. Trump may phrase it from his viewpoint but the bottom line is Macy’s dropped him because he is against illegal invaders and they are not.
