I wonder the same thing about hockey. Between the players who continue to be more younger, bigger, faster, stronger, and ultimately more stupider than the previous generation and the safety neurotics who want fighting banned, bodychecking strongly regulated, and everything but the kitchen sink worn for protective equipment, you wonder what will happen to that sport as well.
The stupidest move by the NHL was to appoint a Director of Player Safety.

Unless the helmets and other protective gear are changed at the pro level, to make them less safe (and thereby slow collision velocity), then no, there will not be football in 50 years.

For one thing fans are getting tired of watching tattooed, pierced millionaire negroes wrestling around in the mud. Many have dreadlocks hanging out of their helmets.

Additionally, the sports pages now read like the crime beat news.
You’ll have much more violent sports but they’ll involve robots.
