No, It’s about total valve area. Even with equal displacement and bore/stroke ratio, a 16 valve V8 and a 48 valve V12 are totally different cats.

If Mercedes-AMG is only going to produce 500 - 750 of these "super cars" why not just dump one of these things in it and jump past everyone by a mile, instead of a "few more horses than the latest super car.
Yeah, it only has 4,400 hp, but can be bored up for more if the customer wants it.

Yep, back when I still had my Yamaha FZR-1000, all the $$$ hyper car drivers would suddenly become absorbed in something when I was next to them.
