I agree, especially Carrol O'Connor's portrayal of Archie Bunker. Oh the facial expressions! Credit where credit is due.

While I enjoy the fact that Norman Lear’s “villain” inadvertently became a beloved cultural icon, I never had any use for the show. It was as preachy and heavy-handed as the rest of his work.
