There once was a pilgrim woman named Unlabeled (because she hated labels and names are just labels for people) and she arrived in the New World on the Mayflower. When the people came ashore, they went to work. They cleared trees, dug in the ground, built structures, and planted food.
Unlabeled began to detect microaggressions, especially from the cisgender males who just assumed a leadership role in the community without being asked by the strong, proud, independent women. She was hurt by these microaggressions and asked them to stop.
The leader of the community, a cisgender male, marginalized Unlabeled by saying, "I know not what you speak of. Should thee not be making sandwiches at this time?"
Unlabeled was so injured that she was unable to work anymore and she complained to the cisgender males and womyn in the community. They gathered around and conferred and finally returned to her and said, "We doth feel thine pain. Please, go over yonder and sit on that rock and we shall build a town."
Unlabeled went and sat. In her free time, she thought a lot and realized that she was right and that she deserves to sit and watch the town being built in front of her. So, she sat.
And she sat.
And she sat.
One day, the town was complete and the walls of the town were almost done. The cisgender men erected the final wall of the town and everyone cheered.
Everyone but Unlabeled, because she and her rock were outside the walls. As it should be.
Nice squelch.
Great ending, too.
Thanks for the smile.
Funny. I’m sharing this on FB, hope you don’t mind.
