Animals have been known to turn tail and run. That is why Civil War generals were so careful when they found horses who could withstand the sound of battle. It may not be heroic, but they are definitely a cut above their brethren.

The dog is a hero and closer to being human than any of those scumbag savages!

The dogs know more than (most) people think they know. This dog obviously didn't know there was a bomb waiting for him, but he knew he was protecting his handler.

We should all hope to be so brave when we meet the mf's.

RIP doggie.

While cognizance is only fully developed in humans, dogs have a sense of family and belonging unlike any other animal. I am as saddened by someone who doesn’t understand that Diesel is a hero in every sense of the word, and God will remember him, wheras the lowlife scum who killed him and his human police associates should have no more existence. The human police will get deserved honors. Diesel will get honors. The dead Islamofascists would be placed either in a toxic waste dump, or the bodies sent to medical schools for first year students to dissect. They have Homosapiens DNA, but they weren’t human.

Don’t know about this case but there are many examples of dogs going up against a dangerous foe, i.e., a bear, to protect a human or going back into a fire for someone or leading rescuers to a victim.

Everything in life is not explainable & yes, animals DO
give their all in ways that can only be described as
HEROIC numerous times. . asking little in return; the
occasional pat on the head, a dog biskit in thanks for
a job well done, their daily bowl of kibbles & fresh
water. - Animals are many times much better than some of
the human variety that we’ve seen lately.
