Really weird issue, so last night on my laptop(I have windows 10 Pro on it) it started downloading the update, went to 99 percent then failed, now I no longer see that update even available..now on my Desktop PC I have Windows 10 Home, no update has become available at all just typical windows defender updates

Yeah, that's odd alright. You can ask Windows which updates it thinks it has installed, and at least in Win7 you can remove them selectively. I haven't tried doing that in Win10, though.
