Only 1 of the top 4 from last year's initial standings made the playoff. Several of the top teams will have challenging games this weekend. Clemson will be hosting Florida State. TCU will be visiting Stillwater. Last but not least the clash of the SEC Titans as LSU visits 'Bama.

Ohio State opponent NIU just defeated previously unbeaten Toledo last night...PAC-12 appears to be the Power 5 conference on the outside looking in.

Surprised to see Clemson at Number 1, mainly based on their schedule (yes they have beaten Notre Dame). They have yet to play FSU (this weekend I believe). IMHO, and for what it’s worth in the first week of November, LSU should be Number 1 (OSU has struggled mightily and ‘Bama has one loss). LSU - Alabama this Saturday should settle things out a little more.

Ohio State should be at the top.
That is all.

Only win for both TCU and Baylor against a team with a winning record is my Red Raiders. Texas getting blasted by Notre Dame and California doesn’t help for Oklahoma. But obviously, Alabama losing to Ole Miss who has lost twice is a “quality” loss. It is all just fun and games to help sell t-shirts and make you watch ESPN. They have to create a nemesis. Anytime the New York Yankees or Dallas Cowboys or Alabama or Notre Dame is playing, there are just as many people watching hoping that they lose as their own fans.

They didn’t drop, it’s the first poll of the year. My alma mater started at no. 16 last year and with a 3rd string QB won the BIG 10 championship, beat No. 1 Alabama in Nawlins and then beat No. 2 Quacks in the championship game.

It doesn’t matter as long as Buckeyes are in top four, they’ll prove it on the field just like last year.

Compared to the others, if you drop out Alabama’s placement for ratings, Baylor has played no one. Ohio State should have been out of the top as well. Apparently, strength of schedule is only important for some teams.

Victor, the crying is far worse in Austin.
Thankfully, college hoops are just around the corner, and my Zags are #9 in the AP poll. Our next recruiting class is already one of our best ever, with two top 100 recruits, and I'm told there may be more coming.
Yesterday, the #2 recruit in Illinois announced he will be a Zag.
