RG 3 is a good kid. He seems to have his head on straight.
But he’s not now nor ever will be a top tier nfl quarterback. He has trouble reading defenses and going through his progressions and he is injury prone as well. Fortunately for him, all the hype surrounding him at baylor turned him into a super high draft pick that translated into a bunch of money. The trade to St. Louis for draft rights for RG3 was almost as bad as the infamous Herschel Walker trade that made the Cowboys super bowl winners.
Daniel Snyder.............

Didn't the Cowboys have less than 100 yds passing this past Sunday? Tell Jerry Jones to open up his checkbook!

At this point, it couldn't hurt!

If it weren’t for that, RG III would be traded a long time ago. I think he would really thrive in Chip Kelly’s system at the Eagles.

So let me get this straight. RGIII is a Christian, so no one wants him. But, Shanahan wanted him so much that he played him too much. Which is it? Does the NFL love him too much or not enough?

I’m not a Cousins fan. I’m not even a Redskins fan. All I know is that the Redskins mortgaged the farm to get RGIII, and in retrospect it looks like little Danny fell in love with a show horse instead of a work horse.

RGIII being a Christian has nothing to do with anything.

RGIII is a Christian, and as such, he suffers from ‘Tim Tebow Disease’ (blackballed by the NFL) - that’s REALLY why no one has expressed interest.

<><><><

Yea, it’s got nothing to do with the fact that he’s not been healthy enough to play a full season since his 2nd season in the league, this being his 4th season.

He’s played in only 9 games over the last 2 seasons.

Shanahan played him before he was fully recovered and he was re-injured more seriously,

<><><><<>

Are you suggesting that Shanahan, in his zeal to destroy the career of a known Christian, played him when he was not ready on purpose?

Just trying to connect your RG3 is a Christian so no one wants him with your statement about Shanahan.

“the infamous Herschel Walker trade that made the Cowboys super bowl winners.”

I was thinking about that the other day. Walker was in the WLAF, or whatever that was, when Tex Schramm bought the rights to him if he ever came to the NFL. Schramm was ridiculed for what turned out to be one of the deepest and shrewdest moves ever made in the league.

When the WLAF folded, the Cowboys exercised the right even though they didn’t need another running back. But the trade they made for him, as you say, got them the players and the draft picks that built the Cowboys of the 1990s.

The people who manage these pro sports teams and pay this much money for players are just morons.

You would think so, but the value of the Redskins increased by $700M last year and they're now worth $2.9B according to Forbes.

There's a huge disconnect between performance on the field and performance as a business.

It’s not just RG III’s ability to stay healthy. This is not baseball where people unload salaries at the trading deadline.

The reason that trades don’t occur much in the NFL are because of the salary cap. Teams have to absorb that in the year of the trade. Hell, if that weren’t the case, the Cowboys would have traded for Jay Cutler the day Romo broke his collarbone and probably saved their season.

Philip Rivers would also be long gone... but no one, no one, can take those cap hits.

It’s a shame. I’m not sure that he ever fully recovered from his knee injury.

Dan Snyder is the worst owner in the NFL. He is the ‘skins biggest problem.

Correct. You cannot play quarterback in the NFL with your legs. You have to be able to throw. See...

Tim Tebow
Vince Young
RG III
Kaepernick
Michael Vick

Hell, you could even include guys like Donovan McNab and Steve McNair.

RGII has a lot of negatives so I wouldn’t blame it on is Christianity. I would much prefer to have Tebow who can take a hit. RGIII is a fragile ballerina compared to him with huge price tag.

By your standard the Seahawks would be trying to trade or have benched Wilson for the same reason.

Boy Pigdaddy, little slow on the uptake, are ya?

RGIII was already a Redskin, so it didn't matter whether Shanahan wanted him, he ALREADY had him. Do you follow? He was the toast of the league and the sports talking heads - till he got hurt. Instead of letting him rehab properly, Shanahan forced him to play too soon, at which time he was injured again. If it's too complicated for your little brain, sorry.

Can’t the cultists ever get over it. Tebow is out because he’s a terrible QB. And RGIII is a terrible QB under an even worse contract. Their religion only matters to the idiots that can’t accept their lack of skills.

Tebow may be "terrible" but interestingly enough, he's tied with Matt Ryan for playoff game victories (1) and ahead of most of the active qbs in the league.

By the way, Ryan has $100 Million Plus contract.

Terrible QBs can win single games. Heck terrible QBs can even win strings of games if they they get enough help from the rest of the team, as demonstrated by Peyton Manning’s first 6 games this year.

Matt Ryan’s career completion percentage is 64.3. Tebow’s is 47.9. And that’s why Ryan is on a $100 million contract, and Tebow is out of the league.

And that is NEXT year’s money. That on top of what he is getting this year. Damn.
