The shim sham flim flam drama unfolded in recent weeks in Washington has been something to behold.
We're told that a brave group of House members called the "House Freedom Caucus" forced John Boehner to leave and that this "Freedom Caucus" endorsed Daniel Webster of Florida.
But then Paul Ryan came around and most of them 'saw the light' and came out supporting Ryan.
But in spite of the "Freedom Caucus" claim they 'got rid of Boehner' Boehner is still around handing Barack Obama everything he wants in a new 'budget deal'.
A deal that keeps on spending more and more and bringing our national debt up another trillion dollars. The Republicans and Democrats of the Uniparty doing the bidding of the corporate and banking elites that run this country. At least Paul Ryan had the honesty to vote for the plan and confirm he's just another Boehner.
Almost all of the 160 plus Republicans who voted against were pretenders who showed their true colors earlier this year when all but five of them made Boehner Speaker.
Later today the vote for Speaker takes place on the floor in front of God and the American people.
It will be a proof vote as to who really means it about conservatism and a reminder to us folks back home about the liar, liar pants on fire Republicans who should never again under any circumstances receive our votes.
Between now and the elections ahead in 2016 (primary and general) we can expect a lot of emotional issues to distract us from the RINO politicians, RINO front groups and RINO media along with emotional speechmaking from the pretenders and phonies of the GOP (95 percent or more of all House and Senate Republicans).
Its way past time to 'just say no' to the phony baloney, plastic banana conservatives of the Republican Party from Paul Ryan on down.
These folks in Washington deserve to be mocked and derided as our enemies. General George S. Patton told us how to deal with enemies by 'giving them hell all the time'.
I will not cease being disgusted with the Republican Party (95 plus percent of it) and denying them my vote and deriding them in this forum and anywhere else I can.
That’ll show ‘emâ¦â¦â¦...
Who is your choice for speaker?
-— ‘saw the light’ -—
you are wrong in your interpretation
the conservatives did not see the light, they were forced to the understanding that there was only one congressman with adequate support to be elected speaker. that candidate happened to be the conservative Paul Ryan who apparently really didn’t want the job. Ryan is not the extreme right some wanted but he was the best they could get.
what took place or rather is taking place, is applied politics 101. power springs from available votes.
none of the extreme conservatives came any where near the threshold for real contention.
Good question.
I heard Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky with Glenn Beck last week as he noted that he was one of only five who had the guts to vote against Boehner back on January 6th.
Massie would make a great Speaker of the House.
Of course your comeback might be something like ‘he can’t get elected’.
My response to that would be if the Republicans can’t elect someone like Massie as the Speaker, then we might as well let Nancy Pelosi be Speaker since Boehner and Ryan support bankrupting the country and increasing our debt another trillion just like Pelosi does.
And that issue overrides all the other emotional diversions Republican Party operatives use to suck us folks into voting for their pretend conservative candidates.
The English word, a noun having eight letters, starts with an "I" and ends with a "Y".
Also: Words are not Actions, and Actions are not Results, (e.g., that Up-State boob Gowdy, and Issa before him).
And remember: You Never Get the Time Back.
Be mindful of the massive opportunity cost WE, OUR children, OUR grandchildren, OUR great grandchildren, ..., etc., NOW CONFRONT.
[When Bernie gets to his plank on poverty, be sure to ask about the effectiveness of LBJ's "War on Poverty" and its price tag to date.]
You mean the “conservative” Paul Ryan that got a 58 percent F rating from “Conservative Review”.
Yeah sure and I have some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.
Paul Ryno claims it’s a new day in Congress, but it’s just another day of cramulous GOPee dumping on Americca.
Newt.
Ryno voted FOR Cramulous II. He is no conservative. Either on govt finances or on amnasty.
I’m sure Paul Ryno is going to put on a good show and make a lot of pretend conservative noise with Fox News and talk show hosts, RINO websites helping him to get our minds off the bankrupting of our country. He also wants us to forget his ultimate intention of pushing through Amnesty for illegals once the election season has passed.
Ryan and GOPe will try to seduce us and get our pants on the ground to vote for them next year.
I’ve been ‘sexually abused’ enough. What part of NO don’t you understand, Republicans.
I would have supported Newt in a previous life, but I think he’s not as conservative as he led us to believe in the 1990’s.
> “what took place or rather is taking place, is applied politics 101. power springs from available votes.”
Available votes can swing on a moment’s notice. But most of the votes in place are bought. That’s not politics, that’s corruption.
> “none of the extreme conservatives came any where near the threshold for treal contention.”
Daniel Webster of Florida is not extreme. And he’s also not corrupt as is Paul Ryan.
Fact: Paul Ryan is a corrupt liar and can’t be trusted.
Fact: Harry Reid and Luis Gutierrez support Ryan for Speaker. This fact is all anyone need know.
It’s best to vote in a Speaker Pro Tem for the rest of quarter and then hold another vote in February.
I’ve been watching this for 40 years and I’m utterly convinced that the Republicans and Democrats have been conning us all the time for the most part with a handful of exceptions.
Its gone from bad to worse over that period.
We have a firm Uniparty with Republicans posturing as conservatives and Democrats as liberals-progressives whatever. Their words in election campaigns bear no resemblance to the actions they take once elected.
Its a sham, its for show.
The big corporate and banking money has bought them out.
I believe you are right.
Dude, what’s “telephone wire”?
;~)
Sitting on the couch with Nazi Pelousy was a big clue.
Rush Limbaugh said the GOP in the Senate led by Foreign Relatons Committee Chairman Bob Corker of Tennessee greased the skids for the Iran deal with his “Corker Bill”.
Rush said it was done so sanctions could be lifted and big companies like Boeing could do business with Iran.
Its been announced that Israel’s airline El Al has just agreed to a 2.2 billion dollar deal with Boeing involving use of 14 Dreamliners.
Considering that all the senators who opposed the Iran deal are close to the “Israel Lobby” and the Israeli government, they all knew the fix was in on this Iran deal and why the deal went through.
Boeing does business with Israel and Iran under the umbrella of the nuke deal.
Getting all worked up about this Iran nuclear deal was a waste of our time and emotions if we did get upset about it.
It was more of this sham wow political trickery with Republicans and Democrats in this country and Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu in Israel speechmaking to suck us in emotionally to think they were taking a principled stand on an issue.
