As I recall, Freddie was rather short in stature but an awesome shortstop. George Brett played third base, Cookie Rojas was second baseman, Darrell Porter was a fantastic catcher. Amos Otis is another name I remember as a center fielder with a huge bat. We went to most of the home games back then. Just a great group of guys.

I knew that as soon as Hosmer hit it that there was no way Cain would hold at third. Not after game seven in last year’s world series. Go big or go home.
Apparently you missed the fans pelting their field with beer cans and bottles for 8 minutes last week, and the BlueJay players asking them to stop but getting ignored. Then they did it some more later in the inning.
That inning was so epic that Fox Sports 1 replayed just that inning a few days later, as a separate show. (Game Five, TEX v TOR, the 7th inning, which lasted an hour)

Saberhagen was the odd year guy. Did great in odd years and not as great in the even years.
I remember watching him on pins and needles in the I70 World Series. That was a fun time. The folks from St. Louis were good fans back then. I remember everything along 70 was all baseball.
