New Weekly Gratitude Thread. Please notify me if you want to be on the ping list.
MY father is 83 years old with stage four COPD. He cannot see, has diabetes, had bypass surgeries and organs removed. He needs morphine to keep him from agonizing pain. The doctors told me in April he wouldn't get through Memorial Day. Home hospice shows up a couple of days a week for shave and bathe.
Going to the house last night for a visit, I could see it was clear he has come to peace with himself. No longer are the worries about money and what will my mom do once he is brought home. The one thing he told me last night, as we watched the Ranger/Coyote game was this. "Before I go, I will see my grandson graduate from college." My son graduates in May.
I am grateful that my father is still looking towards the future. I am also grateful that my mother, bless her heart is still as much in love with my dad 56 years later as she was the first day they met.

I’m grateful for my wife. We celebrated our 27th anniversary yesterday. I’m also grateful for my dad who showed me what a husband is supposed to be like and do.
Prayers for you and your dad.

I am thankful that my mom is at least safe now that she is in a nursing home. No more over or under medication falling etc. She is at peace has all of her faculties.
I am also quite blessed and thankful for my wife who has directed me toward the Lord.
I am grateful for food, clothing and shelter - in fact,
more than we need so thankful we are able to share, too,
with others.
I am grateful that God is in control. Due to economics my family is geographically split and will be for the foreseeable future. Still knowing that God holds the future and is faithful gives me strength and peace each day.
Please put me on the ping list. I need a chance to get my mind on the positive things in life.
I’m grateful that it’s Friday, the weather forecast for tomorrow is good, and hunting season is here!
Congratulations and happy anniversary. We just celebrated our 26th last week (the 14th.)
Congrats to you too. We had our 37th on Wednesday the 21st.
