Norwegians Use The Word “Texas” As Slang To Mean “Crazy”

If you’re Norwegian or happen to spend a lot of time around Norwegians, then this fact that absolutely blew our minds might not be news to you—but apparently the word “Texas” is slang for “crazy” or “wild,” as in, “the end of the [whatever sport they play in Norway] game was totally Texas!”

When we travel abroad and people ask us where we’re from, I always say “Texas”. I don’t say we’re Americans.

There are two TV shows the Germans and the Brits really like, "Dallas" and "King of the HIll"

Both are total Texan.

It is actually a compliment to us Texans. We got a reputation for being party animals in Norway.

I knew three Norwegian Air Force pilots, when I was in Germany. Those dudes were really Texas.
