Driver Who Swerved and Hit a Motorcycle: ‘I Don’t Care’
KFOR ^ | OCTOBER 19, 2015 | Dallas Frankllin

A dramatic motorcycle crash that left two injured was caught on video by another motorcyclist’s helmet camera.

Saturday afternoon, Eric Sanders and his friend were riding their motorcycles down a Granbury, Texas road when a car suddenly swerved and clipped his motorcycle, throwing Sanders and his girlfriend off the bike.

“I’ve got a gouge in my elbow that is bone-deep,” Sanders told WFAA.

Video posted to Facebook shows Sanders’ friend confront the driver of the car.

“What were you doing? You hit them,” you can hear the friend say.

“I don’t care,” the driver of the car says.

The man in the video repeatedly says he doesn’t care because he “got stung by a wasp.”

Sanders is recovering from his minor injuries, but his girlfriend remains in the hospital.

“They’re worried about infection,” Sanders said, crying. “If her arm gets infected they’re going to have to amputate it.”

According to WFAA, so far, no one has been ticketed for the wreck, or for the pass in double-yellow lines.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says they are investigating whether the man intentionally crashed into Sanders.

You know full well this is a lib snowflake whose mommy convinced him he was special.

He doesn’t care about nearly killing someone. HE got stung. Thats what mattered. Liberals should all be caged.

We must ban all wasps.

The man is in his 60s. That would make him a Johnson Democrat.

Even if he got stung he is criminally negligent while behind the wheel.

Back in the Dark Ages - i.e. the late 60's - I road a motorcycle and even crossed a double white line (they didn't use yellow in those days) on occasion. I didn't expect to be pushed out of the way by the slowpoke I was passing.

According the Ft. Worth Star-Telegraph, the car driver was arrested Monday evening. Two felony counts of “assault with a deadly weapon.” The motorcyclist was cited at the scene for passing in a no-passing zone.

Seems fair enough to me.

Looked intentional to me.

He didn’t like them speeding and racing and passing everyone. I don’t either. These folks that treat the roadways as their race course are a menace and most end up like this at sometime. I know. I used to ride like this. Not as fast as these guys but it catches up with you. They rode with disregard until they ran into someone with equal disregard.

Regardless of what others are doing, the car driver is wrong to use his vehicle as a traffic enforcement tool. Heck, he is more than wrong. What he did is akin to sitting on the side of the shooting at speeders.

Trying to kill someone for passing in a no-passing zone seems fair to you?

I think he means the charges. I agree; the charges seem fair.

Can’t argue with that. Maybe it was the way I perceived the thread was headed.

“...but it catches up with you.”

I was driving with my teen daughter and saw some bikers coming up on us fast. One guy was doing wheelies at 60+ mph.

“Okay - so THIS is why you are always checking your rear view mirror!”

I slowed down as I saw he was coming up on the driver in the left lane too fast. He almost ran into the other guy - then they all jumped into the gap I had left by slowing down, then got over into the left lane again and the lead guy popped a wheelie and tore off.

“Idiots. I just hope they kill themselves before they kill someone else.”

If the driver really was stung or simply lost control for a moment, then, judging by this video alone, the biker was wrong. He purposely drove over the double yellow lines to pass. He shouldn’t have taken that risk.

If the driver swerved on purpose, well, that’s a different story. Still, people, please stop taking these risks. The adrenaline rush isn’t worth getting killed over, and these guys were old enough to know better.

I’m surprised. That sounds like the typical comment of a modern snowflake type. But Liberals come in all ages I guess. Same attitude of ‘me first and only’ ultimately.

His political affiliation wasn’t mentioned but given that he’s 68 years old and from one of the most conservative regions in Texas I kind of tend to doubt that he’s a liberal snowflake.

Not everything is political.
It looks intentional and the fact that he kept saying he didn’t care and his comments about it being a no passing zone makes me believe it’s a road rage issue.

The driver of the car is being criminally charged and IMHO rightly so.

Not just bikers either.

I was on a freeway early morning and could see the traffic slowing down and parting from the middle lane. Some guy in some little piece of crap car speeds down the middle like he is the smartest guy in the world. At the last second he sees why traffic is parting; there is an extension ladder in the middle lane. He attempts a “J” turn to avoid it but strikes it with his left rear wheel which literally puts the car up on its two right side wheels for about 50 feet. The car righted itself and he slowed for less than a quarter mile then returned to his excessive rate of speed none the wiser.

I believe if vehicles had a sharp spike six inches from the driver’s chest in place of an air bag people would drive more carefully.

Hard to imagine the reaction of “I don’t care” by the old guy.

And it is also amazing/disgusting to see the reaction of the bikers. More concerned about cussing out and confronting the old guy than caring what condition the girl is in. I’m glad those women stopped and looks like they are trying to comfort the girl, praying, etc.

GREAT idea! It is easy, especially when one is young, to think a car makes one invincible.
