Local baseball star Daniel Norris reveals cancer diagnosis on social media

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City baseball star Daniel Norris took to social media Monday to make an announcement that he has cancer and will be undergoing surgery to remove what is believed to be a malignant growth on his thyroid.

According to a post on Norris’ Instagram via his verified Twitter account Monday, he confirmed he would soon be having surgery.

He had one spectacular game with the Tigers before being taken out with an injury. He hit a home run in his very first major league at bat. (after breaking the scoreboard in batting practice)
