During my 13 months in VN, there were many times when I was VERY hungry. I distinctly recall food having the highest priority on my list of wants and needs.

Have my doubts about the results of the study.

I’ve read a large number of books on POW experiences during WWII and the one thing mentioned over and over again was the longing for food.

Women and the idea of sex took a back seat in the minds of these men as they struggled with hunger month and month. Far more so the men in the Japanese camps than the German’s but still - food was thought number one.

But the reason men still want to play is that it's better to play PeeWee football than not to play at all.
