I don’t get it, Lando Calrissan was black.
BUT, Lando served an important role in the story, they needed a balck guy but got him into more than a token role. The screenwriters did a great job with that.
It remaims to be seen what this role is, he may end up being the Jar Jar of the sequel trilogy.
Oh..... that an unfortunate realization.
Sounds contrived
WHAT lando was black? when did that happen!!!!(/sarcasm)
Yes, the theme of that story was that 'a Black man will sell out his best friend for a shot at a white woman.'
Of course, that followed up on the first movie which cribbed from 'Triumph of the Will'.
Pretty sure the objection was that Storm Troopers were clones, and they were not black, per se.
This was actually a mistake made by fans, in that later troopers were normal people. In fact, Luke was considering following Dax to join the Empire.
The only people complaining are probably canon purists who feel all storm troopers were suppose to be clones of the same dude, the vaguely latin looking dude in the Episode 2.
Lando Calrissan was not a clone.
All Storm troopers are clones.
All Storm Troopers are clones of one man; Jango Fett.
Jango Fett was not a black man.
So where does "Finn" the black Storm Trooper come from?
They needed a black guy for this film? That's more ridiculous for this role than was the character of Lando. AND the producers should have KNOWN that Star Wars fans...serious fans...would object for those reasons. They should have created or picked another character to cast their token in.
