WASHINGTON - At noon on Thursday, Republicans will gather behind closed doors and vote by secret ballot for their candidate for the most powerful job in the House, a post that's second in line to the presidency — Speaker of the House.
The Republican caucus — at 247, the largest majority in more than 80 years — will select its nominee to replace Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, who has announced he is stepping down at the end of October after nearly five years in the post.
But that's not the final word. The full House — 435 Republicans and Democrats — will vote for speaker on Oct. 29.

2. Review the bribery list to calculate amount needed to secure each vote.
3. Contact all reps on the blackmail list that do not appear on the bribery list and make them an offer they can’t refuse.

5. Gather total amounts of cash, goods, and services from allied lobbyists for the bribery list.
6. Distribute bribes.

I don’t like the fact that the new speaker is chosen via secret ballot.
That means your local RINO congress critter (like I have) can ignore your emails about who to vote for.
Author seems to have skipped over the Veep as second-in-line to the president.

I just called my Representative’s DC office and told his guy that I would NOT be happy were he to vote for Kevin McCarthy for Speaker. McCarthy is Boehner 2.0. Told his guy that the folks out here are seriously pissed at what’s going on up there and, more importantly, NOT GOING ON (halting Obama’s illegal, unconstitutional madness).
Told him we need a Louie Gohmert or Trey Gowdy in that slot and if McCarthy gets the job we’re that much closer to some kind of revolution out here.

PS: How BAD is McCarthy? OBAMA ENDORSED HIM FOR SPEAKER! If you need to know more, you’re probably a Democrat or in need of a brain implant! (Actually that’s redundant!)
PPS: If traffic from here suddenly stops, it’s probably because my use of the term “revolution” caused the boys at the NSA to spring into action.
I’ve seen only two choices mentioned in articles. Is no one else trying to get the position...no conservative trying?
I should say two “realistic” choices given are always McCarthy and Chaffetz. No one else even a possible win?
