This one's a great popcorn crime/mobster flick. It's a very to-the-point film, with little in the way of back story or individual character backgrounds. Instead, it focuses on the raw essentials of a good, fast-moving crime flick: tough cops, shifty mobsters, and one mighty fine car chase. 7.25/10.

One of the greatest car chases, ever.
I remember seeing a featurette about the filming of the chase scene(s).

Some of my favorite scenes depict the appearance and mood of NYC in the early 1970s.
For all I know, it’s that way again now.

According to the poster below the producer of the film is the same guy who did Bullet and the French Connection. So he ought to know a little something about great car chases! They contain two of the best of all time.

Also, the guy driving the bad guy’s car in this film’s chase scene is the same guy who did the stunt driving in the French Connection and Bullitt - the legendary Bill Hickman.

That car chase was better than Bullet, IMO.

I remember watching this as a teenager.
Great flick.
Loved the music too by Don Ellis. The chaotic modern music was a perfect fit for this chaotic flick.
