Woman Seeks Divorce From 'Short' Husband

Lady embarrassed to go out with him
A Saudi woman in her 20s has filed for a divorce from her new husband on the grounds he is very short and embarrasses her in public places.
The woman, who married nearly seven months ago, told the Department of Islamic Affairs in the Eastern Saudi province of Al Qateef that her friends and other people “look with sarcasm” at her when she goes out with her husband.
“She wants to be divorced on the grounds she feels embarrassed when she goes out with her short husband…this is one of the strangest divorce cases we handle,” Sheikh Mohammed Al Jirani, a judge at the Department, told Okaz Arabic language newspaper, which did not mention how short the husband is.
