I lost nothing. I now have 4 Windows 10 computers: my new Lenovo, an older desktop, older laptop, and a really old 32bit Lenovo laptop.

Can’t hurt to back up your data (it NEVER hurts to back up your data regularly).

One thing I could suggest is that for you to make sure you have as much memory plugged into your system as it can take. A big harddisk couldn’t hurt either, but, that memory is important.

Be patient. What I have found is that once you get W10 loaded, it will take a day or to of updates to get things totally straight. While it is updating, the computer will run slow and not be very useful, but, after a few restarts, it should run much better. A lot of drivers have been updated to work with W10 and they all have to upload.

I know all of mine did.

One thing about W10 is that it wants you to use a hotmail account. I have a number of them (lots of on-line storage) and don’t do anything on the computer I care if someone else sees (and I ignore on-line adverts), so, if you feel comfortable with it, sign into the Microsoft store and connect up. Otherwise. don’t :D

As a backup, I sign into Chrome and import my bookmarks there. I can get my bookmarks anywhere by signing the browser into my Chrome account.

Yes, I can see the privacy folk’s heads exploding now, but, I don’t care if someone sees me reading icanhascheezeburger.com or imdb.com. More important things, I do in a more secure way.

Another (older) thread on Windows 10 adoption rates ... PING!

You can find all the Windows Ping list threads with FR search: just search on keyword "windowspinglist".
