Some months ago, I was visiting Salt Lake City, a place which really had absolutely nothing to do with the civil rights movement one way or the other.

Nevertheless, we found ourselves on a street named after Martin Luther King. For some odd reason, all the pawn shops, barred windows, porn shops and low-dive bars were concentrated on that street. You could go in any directions and find your normal well run big city downtown of Starbucks, specialty retailers, bistros, banks and the like except there. Totally uncanny.

One of the locals told me that it used to be like any other part of the downtown area before the street was renamed. I'm sure Dr. King would be so proud. < / sarcasm >
