Do you really believe that Putin's primary reason for going into Syria is to defeat ISIS?

Putin is in Syria to keep the Assad regime in power and to restore Russian influence in the region. Russia and Iran are working together to keep their ally, Assad, in charge so their strategic national interests are served.

I doubt Russia will be going into Iraq or anywhere else to defeat ISIS.
