If I remember correctly, decades ago the same thing happened when “The Sound Of Music” was filmed and the local residents were not pleased by the (re)appearance of Nazi flags.

Reminds me of the time in Paris when during the early 50’s I saw the commie paper Humanite hung two huge 4 storey banners on its headquarters facade. One depicting Stalin the other the hammer and sickle.
