"Hate crimes" are a repudiation of Constitutional equal protection because, in practice and INTENT, they only benefit and advance the cause of specific groups, and punish their critics. Whenever a non-preferred group attempts to invoke "hate crime" claims, the response is that it is the (Christian) groups viewpoint which is being attacked, which is not under protection.

If fairness was the goal, those who concoct hate crime hoaxes to implicate other groups would suffer double the penalty of the hate crime enhancement invoked. False witness has ALWAYS been held up as the grievous crime because it is inimical to a just and ordered society. Why shouldn't sodomites be held to the same standard as other Americans?
